1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information (collected at signup and when editing profile)
- Full name
- Email address
- Password (stored only in hashed form on our server; never stored in plain text)
- Phone number
- WhatsApp number
- CNIC (Pakistani National ID number) — required so that other users can identify trusted ride posters, as common in Pakistani ride-share platforms
- Bio (optional short description)
- Profile picture (optional)
1.2 Vehicle Information (when you post a vehicle)
- Vehicle name / make / model
- License plate number
- Car type
- Vehicle photo
1.3 Advertisement Information (when you post a ride)
- Pickup and drop-off locations that you type manually (we do not read your GPS)
- Date and time of the ride
- Number of seats, price, and description
- Reference to the vehicle you associated with the ad
1.4 Payment Information
When you pay for a paid/promoted ad, you transfer money to us through a third-party bank or wallet (e.g., JazzCash, EasyPaisa, bank transfer) outside the App.
You then upload a screenshot of your payment receipt inside the App as proof. That screenshot is stored on our servers for payment verification.
We do not collect, store, or process credit/debit card numbers, CVVs, or bank login credentials inside the App.
1.5 Device Permissions We Request
- Camera — used only when you choose to take a new photo for your profile, a vehicle, or a payment proof.
- Photos / Media (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES) — used only when you choose to pick an existing image from your gallery for the same purposes.
- Storage (READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — used only to cache images that the App has already downloaded, so the App loads faster.
- Internet / Network state — to send and receive data and to show an offline message when you lose connectivity.
We do not access your camera, microphone, or gallery in the background. We do not scan any other files on your device.
1.6 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your GPS or precise location.
- We do not collect your approximate location.
- We do not access your contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar, microphone, or browser history.
- We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any advertising SDK.
- We do not collect advertising IDs.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and authenticate your account
- Let you post vehicles and ride ads that other users can browse
- Allow buyers and sellers of empty seats to contact each other via the phone/WhatsApp numbers you provided
- Verify payments for promoted or premium ads
- Communicate with you about your account, ads, or support requests
- Prevent fraud and keep the platform safe
- Comply with legal obligations in Pakistan
3. How Your Data Is Shared
Your data is shared only in these limited ways:
- With other App users: Your full name, profile picture, phone/WhatsApp number, vehicle details, and ad details are visible to other users so they can contact you about a ride. This is the core purpose of the App — do not post information you do not want other users to see.
- With our payment verification staff: Payment proof screenshots you upload are reviewed internally to confirm your payment.
- With legal authorities: If required by a valid legal request, court order, or Pakistani law.
Your CNIC is never publicly displayed. It is used only for internal verification and is visible only to KhaliSeat administrators.
We never sell your data.
4. Data Storage and Security
- User data is stored on servers operated by KhaliSeat / Barqi Bazar.
- Authentication tokens on your device are stored in encrypted secure storage (flutter_secure_storage).
- Passwords are hashed server-side before storage.
- Data transferred between the App and our servers is protected using HTTPS.
- Access to personal data (including CNIC and payment proofs) is restricted to authorised personnel only.
While we apply reasonable safeguards, no system is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- We retain your information as long as your account is active.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us (see Section 9). We will process the request within 30 days.
- After deletion, your personal data is removed from our active systems. Limited records (e.g., payment receipts) may be retained only as long as required by Pakistani tax or financial law.
In-app account deletion: You can also request account deletion from within the App's Profile screen, or by contacting support.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Withdraw granted permissions (Camera, Photos, Storage) at any time via your device settings
- Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Children's Privacy
KhaliSeat is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
8. Third-Party Links
The App contains links to external services such as Facebook, Twitter / X, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and our website. When you click these links you leave the App and are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties. We are not responsible for their practices.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be announced inside the App or by email.
